The new process of pulverized coal gasification-low water/gas sulfur-resistant shift was listed as "low-carbon innovation technology in the petrochemical industry"

2010-10-01

On October 25, 2010, after repeated demonstration by experts, the new pulverized coal gasification low water/gas sulfur-resistant shift process developed by our company was listed as a "low-carbon technology innovation and demonstration project" by the National Development and Reform Commission. The demonstration project will be implemented in the transformation of the Shell pulverized coal gasification shift unit of Sinopec Hubei Fertilizer Branch. This is one of the five innovative technologies recommended by the National Development and Reform Commission in the national petrochemical industry, which means that the new pulverized coal gasification low water/gas sulfur-resistant shift process will be more widely promoted and applied in the coal chemical industry.

At present, my country has 23 "Shell", 11 "Aerospace" and 2 "BGL" pulverized coal gasification units, which have an annual production capacity of 5 million tons of synthetic ammonia. In addition, there are dozens of coal-to-methanol, coal-to-oil and coal-to-olefin units, with a methanol production capacity of 7.8 million tons per year. The energy-saving low water/gas shift process can be used in the conversion section of these units. The successful application of this demonstration project is not only beneficial to energy conservation and consumption reduction in my country's synthetic ammonia industry, but also has a good demonstration effect on energy conservation and emission reduction in pulverized coal gasification to produce methanol, oil, olefins and other equipment.
