Shenhua Ningmei 4 million tons/year coal indirect liquefaction demonstration project is the world's largest coal-to-liquid project with a single unit, and is a national coal deep processing demonstration project established to promote the country's medium- and long-term energy development strategy. The project uses a complete set of technologies with my country's independent intellectual property rights, breaking the foreign technology monopoly, and is a historic breakthrough in my country's independent research and development of key coal chemical technologies.
The project uses the waste boiler + two-stage low water/gas sulfur-resistant conversion process and layered loading reactor patent technology developed by our company, and uses our company's QDB series low water/gas sulfur-resistant conversion catalyst. The first series of catalysts for the conversion unit were loaded in August 2016, sulfidation was completed on October 4, and the first start-up was successful on October 27. Due to the flexible process control and good performance of the catalyst in inhibiting methanation, the previous perception of the conversion section that "the bed temperature is difficult to control and the stable operating conditions are difficult to adjust" was overturned during the startup process. In the three subsequent gas conduction processes, the highest hot spot temperature of the bed was less than 500°C, and the conversion section could supply gas to the downstream with stable indicators within 1 to 2 hours. This shortened the startup time of the device, saved startup costs, and received unanimous praise from leaders and operators at all levels of Shenhua Ningmei.
