The major scientific and technological innovation project of Shandong Province, "Development of organic sulfur conversion sulfur-resistant shift catalyst under low water-gas ratio conditions", undertaken by Qingdao Lianxin Catalytic Materials Co., Ltd. and other units, passed the on-site technical acceptance of experts organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology on November 17, 2020. The expert committee formed the following opinions through reviewing project materials, listening to reports, questioning, and on-site inspections:
1. The comprehensive performance evaluation materials provided are basically complete and standardized, and meet the requirements.
2. The project has developed an organic sulfur conversion sulfur-resistant shift catalyst with international leading level, which solves the key technical problem that high CO and high sulfur coal feed gas are prone to generate organic sulfur compounds such as methyl mercaptan and sulfide under low water/gas (CO) ratio and low temperature conditions, and has exceeded the research content specified in the task book.
The technology passed the industrial application appraisal organized by Sinopec Federation in June 2020. Experts believe that the technology has independent intellectual property rights, advanced technical indicators, obvious energy-saving and emission reduction effects, strong applicability and innovation, and the overall technology is at the international leading level.
my country is a large coal consumer, and the output of low-quality high-sulfur coal accounts for about one-third of the total coal reserves. Therefore, the development and utilization of high-sulfur coal has always been an important topic of research and concern, and is an important strategic measure for national energy reform. The successful development of this technology has solved the key technical problems in the application of energy-saving low water-gas ratio conversion devices in the "National High-sulfur Coal Demonstration Project", assisted the implementation of new conversion processes such as energy-saving low water-gas ratio, and played a good demonstration effect for the promotion and application of high-sulfur coal. It has significant technical and economic advantages such as greatly reducing steam consumption and condensate emissions, stabilizing conversion operations, saving raw coal procurement costs, reducing the amount of "low-methane" methanol emissions, and extending the service life of fine desulfurization and post-stage catalysts. It has important strategic and practical significance for the technological progress, expansion and transformation, energy conservation and consumption reduction of my country's coal chemical industry, and ensuring my country's energy supply, and its promotion and application prospects are very broad.
